6 Kids Toy Trend For 2023
The American Toy Association unveiled the popular toy trends for 2023 on March 8th, local time.  These trends were derived from communications with hundreds of toy companies worldwide and surveys on trends in technology, fashion, home, social media, and more. The association noted that the biggest trend in toys, games, and children's entertainment this year is the integration of classic games with new platforms, technologies, and consumer habits.

Specifically, these Six Trends include:
1.Back to Basics:
According to survey data cited by the American Toy Association, 79% of American parents consider play to be an important form of self-care, and 77% used toys to help children with social-emotional learning during the pandemic.
This year's trend will emphasize cultivating healthy habits through toy games, such as promoting mindfulness, good sleep habits, and fostering family happiness through classic games.

2.Tween Takeover:
The American Toy Association believes that teenagers aged 12 and above are the primary drivers of growth in the toy industry.
The trend of adults relieving stress by integrating fun through toys during the COVID-19 pandemic will lead the toy industry to introduce more toys suitable for teenagers and adults, including stress-relief toys, collectibles, crafts, and technology-based toys. Among them, the most popular are new smart electronic toys such as kids smart watch and kids smart phone toy.

3.Be Authentic:
As consumers become more discerning, practicality becomes more critical in the toy industry.  In 2023, there will be more toys combining multiple play styles, including games suitable for different age groups, enhancing the fun and learning ability through new technologies, and supporting socially responsible, diverse, and sustainable toys.

4.Macro to Micro:
Driven by social media, various toys, from oversized plush toys and classic games to miniature crafts, collectibles, and toy sets, will continue to lead consumer demand.
These toys will be sought after for their unique gaming elements, including collectibility, new game mechanisms, and highly stylized details.

5.Pop Culture Lifestyle:
Consumer spending habits have evolved to pay for hobbies, including nostalgic adults and children interacting with physical and online products.
In 2023, it is expected that more toy manufacturers will delve deeper into broader fan bases, driving brands into vertical areas, including gaming and anime characters, buzzwords on social media, and nostalgic elements from the 90s and around the millennium.

6.2023 Entertainment Update:
The American Toy Association will continue to focus on highly anticipated new films, television, and streaming productions that will impact the toy market.
This year will see new big-screen releases, including Barbie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Mario Bros., among others, presented in a range of new toys, leading new trends.
These trends showcase the evolving landscape of the toy industry, reflecting changing consumer behaviors, technological advancements, and the influence of popular culture.  Manufacturers are adapting to meet the demands of a diverse and discerning audience, creating innovative and engaging toys for all ages.

Summary:
The six toy trends unveiled by the Toy Association of America for 2023 showcase the direction of the toy industry in the coming year. From a return to classics to catering to different age groups' needs, toy manufacturers will introduce more innovative toys covering various aspects, including social-emotional learning, the teenage market, practicality, diverse gameplay, pop culture, and integration with entertainment works such as movies and television.
